Ravana’s Palace – The Day Mahiti Entered the Palace (Version – 4)

Mahiti’s painting became the talk of the town. The day she was waiting for finally came. As she entered the palace gates, she was stunned and ashamed at the same time. The palace garden was far more beautiful than her imaginations. There were creepers and greenery all around. Trees of all sizes bearing fruits and flowers stood tall all around. There was a beautiful lotus pond on one side, a lily pond on another side and a large fish pond that captured her eyes much longer. But her eyes were searching for Sita!

She wanted to run away from the crowd with whom she was entering the palace courtyard mechanically. Only her legs were taking her body there, her mind and eyes were in the garden, in search of Sita. She was soon inside the palace. That’s when she noticed the grandeur inside! She had seen a palace before, as a child. That was nothing compared to what she was seeing. More than the grandeur, what flattered her was the elegance. The palace interiors were not loud, but quite gracefully decorated.

 Mahiti’s eyes now started searching for her beloved king, Ravana. She knew it was not an easy feat, but she longed for one glimpse of her heartthrob to feel better. She could hear her heartbeat clearly even amidst the chaos around her. There were at least a hundred people who were there to perform or showcase their talent and many more who had come to witness the performances. Her complete focus was towards the direction from where someone said the king would enter the courtyard. Eventually, Ravana would be seated gracefully on his majestic throne that everyone could see. But she wanted to savour every moment of her sweetheart’s sight.
