The news spread like wildfire – their beloved king Ravana had captured a beautiful lady from the forest and kept her in custody. Mahiti could not believe that! How can the king do that? What made him consider a lady, a married one, as per the rumours, from the forest as his future wife? That too, when the lady seems to be not interested at all! Will he force himself on her? Will she finally agree? A thousand questions rushed into her mind within moments!

Mahiti was the beautiful daughter of a small ruler under King Ravana. She had just turned 16 when she saw Ravana during one of his processions in Lanka. Mahiti had heard enough about the intelligent king who was equally handsome and showcased a daring personality. She was so smitten by his presence that she fell in love with him at first sight! She knew it was not easy for her to get married to the King, but she also thought that it was not impossible. She had heard stories of kings falling in love with beautiful common women and getting married to them. That gave her hope and her age made her dream!

Mahiti was otherwise different and daring from her counterparts. She was the only child and her parents showered their love on her unconditionally. She grew up to be a smart and beautiful young lady who also learned martial arts from renowned gurus of the area. She also had an artistic inclination which made her an excellent dancer and artist. She used to paint the Ravana of her dreams often and worship him. Her friends would tease her and she used to enjoy it, being in love.
