1) Shloka on waking up: there are two versions of this prayer one can choose to recite from

KaraAgre Vasate Lakshmi, Kara-Madhye Saraswati Kara-Moole Sthitaa Govindaa, Prabhate Kara-Darshanam

Meaning:

At the Top of the Palm dwell Devi Lakshmi, and in the Middle of the Palm dwell Devi Saraswati,
At the Bottom of the Palm dwell Sri Govinda; therefore one should Look at one’s Palms in the Early Morning and contemplate on them.

2) Shloka before commencing any work:

Shuklambaradaram Vishnum Shashivarnam Chaturbhujam Prasanna vadanam Dhyaayeth Sarva vighno pashantaye

Meaning:

Bhagwan, who is wearing white coloured clothes, Who is all-pervading, who has four hands who has a peaceful and joyous face, we meditate on you, remove all the obstacles.

3) Shloka to be recited while bathing:

Gange cha yamune chaiva godavari saraswathi narmade sindhu kaveri jalesmin sannidhim kuru

Meaning:

O Holy Rivers Ganga and Yamuna, and also Godavari and Saraswati,
O Holy Rivers Narmada, Sindhu and Kaveri; Please be Present in this Water (and make it Holy).

4) Before meals:

Annapoorne Sada Poorne, Shankara Prana Vallabhe, Jnana Vairagya Sidhyartham, Bhiksham Dehi Cha Parvati.

Meaning:

Salutations to Mother Annapoorna: O Mother Annapoorna, You who are always full of the gift of food and blessings, You who are the beloved of Shankara,
O Mother Parvati, Please grant me the Alms of Your Grace, to awaken within me Spiritual Knowledge and Freedom from all Worldly Desires.

5) Shloka to be recited in the evening while lighting the lamp:

Shubham karoti kalyana aarogya dhana sampada Shatru buddhi vinashaya deepajyotir namostute

Meaning:

I bow to the light of the lamp which brings auspiciousness, health and prosperity to the environment. Which destroys immoral feelings and negative power from the environment and the mind. By burning this lamp, all enemies’ feelings are destroyed.

6) Shloka before studies:

Sarasvati Namastubhyam Varade Kaama-Rupini Vidyaarambham Karishyaami Siddhir-Bhavatu Me Sadaa

Meaning:

Salutations to Devi Saraswati, Who is the giver of Boons and fulfiller of Wishes,
O Devi, when I begin my studies, please bestow on me the capacity of right understanding, always.

7) Bedtime shloka:

Karacharana Krtam Vaakkaayajam Karmajam Vaa, Shravananayanajam Vaa Maanasam Vaaparaadham, Vihitamavihitam Vaa Sarvametatkshamasva, Jaya Jaya Karunaabdhe Shri Mahaadeva Shambho

Meaning:

A prayer asking the Bhagwan Shiva for total forgiveness. A prayer to Bhagwan Shiva asking him to forgive all our mistakes, which are committed by our various organs of action and speech, and bless us with his mercy. This is a great prayer to say with full earnestness at the end of each day, just before going to sleep.

8) This simplified version of the Gayatri Mantra is for those who haven’t undergone proper samskaras. Can be recited by anyone at all times and beget the same merit:

Gayatri with Swara-Maryada has to be chanted only with certain qualifications under a Guru. However, anyone can chant this alternate verse given in the Devi Bhagavatam

9) Shloka praying to Maa Shakti:

Ya Devi Sarva-bhuteshu, Shakti-rupenu-sansthitaa,
Namastasyae, Namastasyae, Namastasyae, Namaho-namah.

Meaning:

To that Devi who in all beings is abiding in the form of power,
Salutations to Her, Salutations to Her, Salutations to Her, Salutations again and again.

10) Shloka praying to Maa Gauri:

Sarva mangala mangalyai shive sarvartha sadhike
Sharanye trayambake gauri naaraayani namo-stute

Meaning:

Salutations to you O Narayani, who is the auspiciousness of all that is auspicious, the consort of Bhagwan Shiva, who is the means of accomplishing all desires, and who is the refuge of all, the consort of the three-eyed Shiva, and the fair complexioned one.
