Bangladesh: When Yunus was busy forming interim govt, Hasina’s Awami League workers blocked Dhaka highway :
Bangladesh has a new interim government with Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus at its helm. From Sheikh Hasina’s resignation to the formation of a new government, most of the demands put forth by student protestors have been met. Meanwhile, some want Hasina back in the country, so much so that they protested for hours creating a huge blockade on the Dhaka-Khulna highway.
The protests were organised by the former prime minister’s party Awami League, its affiliated organisations and activists who demanded the return of Sheikh Hasina. She fled Dhaka earlier this week amid widespread protests against her administration.
Sheikh Hasina’s supporters accused authorities of injustice against the Awami League’s leader and “daughter of Bangabandhu.”
“Sheikh Hasina should be brought back to the country immediately. A certain quarter conspired to oust her from the country by orchestrating a student movement. We want justice over the incident,” party leader Sheikh Mokimul Islam said.
Pro-Hasina protesters have seen lighting tyres on fire and brandishing weapons to express their anger over the situation. Some protesters were even heard saying they would continue their movement until Hasina returned.

Hasina’s return to Bangladesh is probable after her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy told the that the former prime minister would go back “the moment the interim government decides to hold an election.”
She is currently sheltering in a safe house in the New Delhi area. Indian media has reported that she plans to seek asylum in Britain, but the British Home Office has declined to comment.
“Sooner or later, there has to be a restoration of democracy in Bangladesh and hopefully, that will be between the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Awami League. Then Sheikh Hasina will be back,” Joy said in a separate interview to PTI.
“Now we are going to do whatever it takes to keep our people safe; we are not going to leave them alone,” he further said.

ಬಾಂಗ್ಲಾದೇಶವು ನೊಬೆಲ್ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ವಿಜೇತ ಮುಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಯೂನಸ್ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೊಸ ಮಧ್ಯಂತರ ಸರ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಶೇಖ್ ಹಸೀನಾ ಅವರ ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆಯಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿದು ಹೊಸ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ರಚನೆಯವರೆಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾಕಾರರು ಮುಂದಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ ಬಹುತೇಕ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗಳು ಈಡೇರಿವೆ. ಏತನ್ಮಧ್ಯೆ, ಕೆಲವರು ಹಸೀನಾ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಮರಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬಯಸುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಎಷ್ಟರಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಅವರು ಢಾಕಾ-ಖುಲ್ನಾ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರಿ ದಿಗ್ಬಂಧನವನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ಗಂಟೆಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟಿಸಿದರು.
ಶೇಖ್ ಹಸೀನಾ ಅವರ ವಾಪಸಾತಿಗೆ ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದ ಮಾಜಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಅವರ ಪಕ್ಷ ಅವಾಮಿ ಲೀಗ್, ಅದರ ಅಂಗಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಆಕೆಯ ಆಡಳಿತದ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ವ್ಯಾಪಕ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಅವರು ಈ ವಾರದ ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಢಾಕಾದಿಂದ ಪಲಾಯನ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
ಶೇಖ್ ಹಸೀನಾ ಅವರ ಬೆಂಬಲಿಗರು ಅವಾಮಿ ಲೀಗ್‌ನ ನಾಯಕ ಮತ್ತು “ಬಂಗಬಂಧುವಿನ ಮಗಳು” ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಅನ್ಯಾಯ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದರು.
“ಶೇಖ್ ಹಸೀನಾಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಲೇ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆತರಬೇಕು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಚಳವಳಿಯನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಹೊರಹಾಕಲು ಒಂದು ನಿರ್ದಿಷ್ಟ ಭಾಗವು ಸಂಚು ರೂಪಿಸಿದೆ. ಘಟನೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಮಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಬೇಕು” ಎಂದು ಪಕ್ಷದ ನಾಯಕ ಶೇಖ್ ಮೊಕಿಮುಲ್ ಇಸ್ಲಾಂ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಹಸೀನಾ ಪರ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಕಾರರು ಟೈರ್‌ಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಹಚ್ಚಿ ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನು ಝಳಪಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕೆಲವು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾಕಾರರು ಹಸೀನಾ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗುವವರೆಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಚಳವಳಿಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರೆಸುವುದಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು ಕೇಳಿಬಂದಿದೆ.

ಹಂಗಾಮಿ ನಾಯಕ ಯೂನಸ್ ಬಾಂಗ್ಲಾದೇಶದ ಚುಕ್ಕಾಣಿ ಹಿಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಶಾಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಲು ಮತ್ತು ಚುನಾವಣೆಗೆ ತಯಾರಿ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಾನೆ
ಹಸೀನಾ ಅವರು ಬಾಂಗ್ಲಾದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಯಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರ ಮಗ ಸಜೀಬ್ ವಾಝೆದ್ ಜಾಯ್ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ಮಾಜಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ “ಮಧ್ಯಂತರ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಚುನಾವಣೆ ನಡೆಸಲು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿದ ಕ್ಷಣ” ಹಿಂತಿರುಗುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಅವರು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಹೊಸದಿಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಶ್ರಯ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು ಬ್ರಿಟನ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಶ್ರಯ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಯೋಜಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಭಾರತೀಯ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ವರದಿ ಮಾಡಿದೆ, ಆದರೆ ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷ್ ಗೃಹ ಕಚೇರಿ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯಿಸಲು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿದೆ.
“ಬೇಗ ಅಥವಾ ನಂತರ, ಬಾಂಗ್ಲಾದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಜಾಪ್ರಭುತ್ವದ ಮರುಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ ಆಗಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಅದು ಬಾಂಗ್ಲಾದೇಶ ನ್ಯಾಷನಲಿಸ್ಟ್ ಪಾರ್ಟಿ (ಬಿಎನ್‌ಪಿ) ಮತ್ತು ಅವಾಮಿ ಲೀಗ್ ನಡುವೆ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಆಶಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ. ನಂತರ ಶೇಖ್ ಹಸೀನಾ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಪಿಟಿಐಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕ ಸಂದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾಯ್ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
“ಈಗ ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ಜನರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿರಿಸಲು ಏನು ಬೇಕಾದರೂ ಮಾಡಲಿದ್ದೇವೆ; ನಾವು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
